Wendy David
City Council Member, currently serving as Mayor

I am completing my first term as a Council member, and with the high learning curve, have learned much. I am a candidate that will always put the City’s best interests first. My driving motivation for running again is simple; first, the voters in our community should decide if I have earned a second term as a Council member. Secondly, I am committed to  to seeing  our City move forward with a long term vision which addresses housing and transit, funds better roads, sees our new recreation center built, encourages diversification in our workforce and continues to work with our partners toward greater economic vibrancy and environmental sustainability.

In addition to my two terms as Mayor and two terms as Mayor Pro Tem, I also serve as the City liaison to the Waste Management JPA, the Tahoe Prosperity Center, as well as the Economic Development, VHR and 56 Acre Council sub-committees. As a community leader and advocate, I served 17 years,13 years as President, on the Board of Education for LTUSD, as chair of the First Five Commission and Child Abuse Prevention Council for El Dorado County, President of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, Chair of the South Lake Tahoe Cabinet of the El Dorado Community Foundation, which I am a board member of, and Co-chair for Measure G for our Schools, Measure F for LTCC, and for the Residents for Better Roads initiative. I am a co-founder and co-chair of the Tahoe Women’s Community Fund as well.

I have given and will continue to give 100% of my time, talent, wisdom and experience as evidenced in the last 4 years, leading a roads initiative, working professionally and respectfully with others, seeking fairness through consensus and collaboration whenever possible.
